Recently opened by the owners of 1500 BC (located just below it on the caldera), this restaurant is sure to become one of Fira's most popular addresses. Named after one of the greatest Italian wines, often described as having aromas of tar and rose, Barolo offers subtle and refined gourmet Mediterranean cuisine. Overlooking the volcano and surrounded by traditional whitewashed buildings, Barolo offers an enchanting dining experience with a breathtaking view.

Opened in 2012, this tavern-ouzerie which overlooks the quays (it can be reached either from the port by a small staircase or by the alley parallel to the port) is a real museum. The owner, Nikos, revives this family place where meat specialities prepared according to the traditional local method are served: wrapped in butcher's paper(sto ladoharto in Greek, literally "greasy paper") and fried (for fish prepared in the same way, you have to go to the Smyneiko restaurant on the ground floor).

To have the privilege of enjoying the Glafkos tavern, you'll need to be patient (especially in high season), as reservations are not taken here and tables by the water are few and far between. But it's worth it! The service is impeccable, the setting enchanting and the varied menu offers refined and original cuisine, but always very typical and gourmet. Away from the hustle and bustle of central Naoussa, Rada's terrace, all wood and sleek modern furnishings, welcomes guests in a privileged setting, in the calm of the beachfront. In the kitchen, chef Gikas Genakis is at the helm. Together with his team, he prepares seasonal gourmet menus that sublimate the traditional flavors of the Cyclades. Today, it's a café in tune with the times, with a trendy decor combining industrial style, antique objects, marble and metal. Situated in a pedestrian alleyway, To Takimi is an authentic Greek taverna that's a hive of activity at all hours of the day and night. Whether it's its welcoming shaded green patio, its sky-blue beams or its typical wooden furniture, everything makes you want to sit down here, even before discovering the menu. On the plate, unpretentious but well-executed Greek and Mediterranean cuisine: octopus in sauce, grilled fish, cheeses... All palates should be won over. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes more festive.

This restaurant is perfectly placed, in the middle of the main avenue of Naoussa. One can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the street. And the owner is very friendly, as well as the team of waiters. As for the food, the mushrooms sautéed with garlic, onions and tomatoes are very good. The sautéed crayfish(saganaki) with ouzo, feta cheese and garlic, a great classic, are also very good. On the other hand, the seafood pasta is very dry, really disappointing. Nice restaurant, but a bit uneven.

The elegant marble and wooden building of the restaurant was built in 1844 in the area of Paraporti in the town of Naxos, a place where peasants worked in the service of the Venetian conquerors of the island. Paraporti was the second most important south-north entrance to the Naxos Castle area. George, the young creator of this restaurant, which opened in 2014, has very quickly managed to share his enthusiasm and his talent as a cook. And despite its location slightly set back from the harbour, it fills up every night. Simple but delicious cuisine, with a clever mix of local products and flavours. Special mention for the meats. Professional staff. Prices are very affordable. Do not hesitate to ask to meet him and share his kindness. The establishment also runs the Anoi Bar Bistro upstairs, with a rooftop.

Located a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Naoussa, on the seafront, Christiana is the restaurant attached to the hotel of the same name. The place is peaceful and charming, where you can eat with your feet almost in the water. The address is discreetly exchanged on the beaches between lovers of fish and good Greek food. And why? Because the owners are fishermen themselves, and every day the restaurant receives its fish directly by boat. You can't get fresher than this! The menu includes lobster pasta and fish bisque.

After the now famous Cavo d'Oro in Paros, opened in 1980, here is the new restaurant designed by Adonis Vassilas, located in the beautiful village of Filoti, in Naxos this time. Ios Palace Hotel's restaurant enjoys the same incredible view of Mylopotas and is open to all by the pool. The terrace and the tables around the pool are really nice. At lunchtime you can enjoy a cheap Greek-style burger and fresh salads. Special mention, by the way, to the octopus on its bed of fava (bean purée). A delight. The evening menu is more refined, welcomes a more chic clientele and still mixes traditional cuisine with influences from elsewhere in the Mediterranean.

This traditional restaurant has been open for over 20 years. Greek cuisine and varied a la carte or in menu: mezzes, fish, seafood, meats, soups, salads. This establishment is famous for its homemade pasta and excellent meats. Every day they use organic flour to make their fresh bread and fresh eggs from their hens for their pasta. We are about to reveal one of our favorite addresses. The Thalassamou restaurant is located at the end of the beach, where it enjoys a royal isolation. We sit on the terrace or under the trees, with our feet in the water. The spot is charming but simple, you feel good. Marios Salmatanis, who revisits the local cuisine after training in France, serves incredible tarama, eggplant caviar, fava, sardines and guacamole, bruschetta, mussels with garlic and white wine, squid cooked in its ink... Everything is to die for. And it's not expensive at all!-

This beach restaurant opened in 1964 for bird hunters and is still run by the same family. It is typically the kind of beachside restaurant one would want to find on vacation. You dine with your feet in the sand and the food, although simple, is of excellent quality and prepared only with products from Paros. Don't forget to ask for the grilled fish, absolutely delicious. And the fava, beet and bread spreads are not to be outdone. Finally, not to spoil anything, the prices had the good taste to remain very low.

If you are in Mykonos at the end of October, the pasta and music festival takes place there for two days. Take-away food and a hearty breakfast that you can have on your way to the beaches in the south-east of the island. Nice address.
