A typical family restaurant as there are some left in Croatia. The menu is simple, there are a dozen dishes, most of which are based on fish and which vary according to the catch of the day. Only the octopus salad remains all year long. We recommend it as a starter because it is this recipe that has given the restaurant its reputation as the best establishment on the island. The second particularity of the restaurant is the cheese in oil. In the high season, one is made every day so that you can try them all, from the youngest to the oldest.

On the sea promenade, this family restaurant has a terrace with a panoramic view of the strait that separates us from Pelješac and the islets of the archipelago. This restaurant has a good reputation for its generous food, with a lovely terrace overlooking the salt marshes. Groups of French tourists come here regularly for tastings of local wines, accompanied by Pag cheese and smoked ham. This is the typical Dalmatian dish to which the island is world-renowned! Otherwise, try the big salads, grilled meats, fish simmered in wine and herbs, grilled fish and squid, squid ink risotto, whole lobster... There's plenty to choose from!

This restaurant not far from the road does not have the charm of its competitors in the other hamlets, but is still a very good address. It serves very good grilled meat with home-made vegetables, pizzas, lamb, veal or octopus cooked under the peka (ask in advance), etc. Perfect for groups and to taste the traditional cuisine of Žrnovo in a rustic setting. Don't leave without first trying the macaroni with meat ragout. The owner's mother makes the sauce!

From a small family-run tavern, the Nada has become a successful business, with a terrace restaurant, a farm, wine cellar-shops (Krk, Baška) and seasonal rentals. In terms of cuisine, the menu varies with the seasons, the catch of the day and local produce. Starters include antipasti marinated in island olive oil, a platter of sheep's milk cheese and local charcuterie. You'll also enjoy meats in sauce or grilled, or fish, sea bass in a salt crust, accompanied by French fries, grilled vegetables and wild asparagus.

Family-run restaurant open since 1998 and always busy. Simple, traditional cuisine, prepared with care. The house specialties revolve around seafood: appetizers include fried calamari, large marinated anchovies, a platter of grilled shellfish or small fried fish, and hot dishes such as white tuna steak accompanied by the ever-popular blitva (mashed potatoes and chard in olive oil), all at rather reasonable prices. Opposite the cathedral, on the small square, the waiters at Trapula Wine & Cheese, this friendly wine bar, are busy during the day, but the rush comes at aperitif time. Here, you can enjoy a platter of Pag sheep's cheese and local charcuterie, washed down with a local red wine. This is often the formula ordered. Authentic atmosphere, bringing together locals and tourists, always in good spirits. A perfect option for a gourmet aperitif! Reservations recommended.

On the marina, in a rustic setting, all wood and stone, the Konoba Vapor is a good restaurant. You will be served on the terrace, after the preparation of the cuisine of the generous Dalmatian fisherman. On the menu, smoked tuna as a starter, octopus salad, fresh fish, squid accompanied by southern vegetables, all grilled to perfection and drizzled with olive oil. There is also the black seafood risotto, coloured with squid ink, tagliatelle with mussels and shrimps or lobster. Service well done and smiling.

In this wine bar, you can be satisfied with a plate of cold cuts and cheese accompanied by a good local wine. For an aperitif for example. But for a more relaxed meal, you can go to the restaurant of the Horizont hotel, just next door. Here you can enjoy refined Dalmatian cuisine, inspired by Japan, carefully prepared seafood dishes, grilled meat with finely cut vegetables. A beautiful Croatian wine list and high quality service.

To findtaverns(konoba), quality wine bars or more authentic tables, you have to move away from the port. On the heights of the village, this family-run establishment is the perfect answer. Inside, the dining room has a sober but warm decoration. Outside, the tables climb up the alley. Fresh fish and seafood are presented to you raw on a tray. As for meat, lamb on the spit, a specialty of the island, is served sliced with small vegetables. Good list of regional wines. Reservations are recommended.

Just 3 km from the center of Supetar, on the road to Nerežišća, this restaurant-tavern welcomes you on its dominating terrace. The view of the sea extends to the coast, where the lights of Split and Trogir shine at night. You will appreciate all the more the Dalmatian cuisine served here: the platter of cold meats and local cheeses with salad, the grilled fish of the dayor the sheep meat turned on the spit with southern vegetables, fried potatoes or blitva, the pašticada with local wines as accompaniment... Finally, a piece of walnut and almond cake.

The Roić family welcomes you in this old building built in 1643, well restored. You can sit in the dining room or on the terrace, in the shade of palm trees, with a view of the pretty port. Adriatic cuisine, mainly concocted with the catch of the day, local products (southern vegetables, cold meats and cheeses), fresh pasta, homemade ravioli or risotto, all worked with the excellent olive oil of the house. For dessert, a speciality not to be missed: the orange cake, a delight.

In an alley perpendicular to the port, this establishment is a good address at any time of the day. For breakfast, lunch, dinner or even an aperitif. The restaurant is ideally located, with a very nice terrace, not far from the terminal to take the boat and return to Split and the mainland. It is a good spot to start or end your stay on the island of Hvar. The food is simple, local, balanced and the prices are affordable. A place where tourists and locals meet. A careful and smiling service.

A very attractive family tavern on the seafront, which is very popular. The ideal location with an unobstructed view of the sea, the catch of the day, numerous dishes prepared over a wood fire, and an appreciable vegetarian plate make this place a success. Among the dishes to be mentioned, the entrecote accompanied by a tomato and fig salad, and the fish soup served directly from the pot. Remember to make a reservation as the place is often packed, and come early if you don't like to wait too long once you've ordered!

This is one of the best addresses in the area. It was the team of the restaurant Dalmatino who opened this restaurant in 2017. Originally from Trstenik, the owner has once again aimed right after having conquered us for years in Dubrovnik. The recipe is the same: a beautiful establishment, good products, local cuisine (grilled fish and meat) revisited. Without forgetting to congratulate the quality service, attentive and rather fast, the warm welcome and the friendly atmosphere, just what is needed. Not to be missed.
