The influx of tourists has not made the authenticity of the regional restaurant and the family cuisine disappear. The Catavento is one of those establishments that we like to meet, simple and with an interesting cuisine. It is a family restaurant. While the mother cooks, the others take care of the service. Located a little behind the trendy bars and restaurants, the Catavento offers simple dishes at very attractive prices. The moqueca is tasty and the side dishes are numerous. Ideal for small budgets.

Bar do Alexandre is a beach bar-restaurant with its feet in the water. It's a beautiful, tranquil spot, facing a crystal-clear, azure sea. You can wait in peace for the "por do sol". In the afternoon, the sounds of local bands lull the guests to sleep. The moquecas are as good as in Salvador de Bahia. Petiscos and beer, frozen as they should be, have a special flavor here. Sitting back in comfortable chairs or deckchairs, you're never in a hurry to leave. The staff are very attentive.

Naturalmente is another unpretentious address, with a slightly kitschy decor, far from the glitter of trendy establishments, but which reminds us that the essential is in the plate and in the sincerity and friendliness of the welcome. This establishment offers a wide choice of dishes (international cuisine) including very good pancakes and tasty acai bowls, to be enjoyed with your feet in the sand. You can choose dishes oriented "sea" (like the shrimps with curry and coconut milk, or the fish in its maracuja and orange sauce), or land.

As you may have guessed, Leonardo da Vinci is entirely dedicated to transalpine cuisine. For many people, guests and food critics alike, it is "the" Italian restaurant in Jeri. The decor matches the menu. We have left the simple happiness of rusticity for a more cozy dimension. A part of the transalpine finesse blends here with the Brazilian generosity. Pasta and meats are in the spotlight on the main street of the village. The pizzas are among the best in Jeri. Service on the terrace. A sure value.

La Cabana do Sol is a large, pleasant straw hut located near the São Marcos lighthouse. The price of success is that this seaside restaurant is always full, and you'll often have to wait to get a seat (we opt for the Rua João Damasceno restaurant for faster service). Whether you opt for meat or fish dishes, the menu offers several options of typical, tasty dishes. Excellent service. We're greeted with small pasteis in chilli sauce, offered by way of welcome.

The carne do sol (literally meat of the sun) is a typical preparation of the Nordeste. The cowboys used to dry the meat to preserve it, in these lands with high temperatures. As you can see, this establishment is partly dedicated to meaty food. The Carnedo Sol do Ramiro is a pleasant restaurant located at the seaside proposing the typical dishes of the North-Eastern cuisine (manioc chips, picanha...). Follow the chef and order the carne de sol! Dishes to share and attractive prices.

The Divina Gula, over the years, thanks to the work has become a reference as well as an institution in Maceió. This restaurant offers regional specialties from Minas Gerais and Nordestas. In a very rich menu, we recommend the picanha (noble piece of beef) with macaxeira (fried manioc), the carne do sol with tutu mineriro or the grilled beef with broccoli. Of course, seafood is not forgotten, like the curry-pineapple shrimp. In the evening, the restaurant also offers a bar atmosphere on its large, lively terrace.

Located between the airport and the beach, Miguel's is an Aracaju classic that has been welcoming guests since 1980. The 4 Rodas guide has awarded it several times for the quality of its cuisine. It offers good local cuisine, the menu varies between meat and fish dishes. Try the chef's suggestion: carne de sol, a traditional regional dish made with sun-dried beef filet. More classically, you can try surubim, a typical fish from the São Francisco River, or a picanha in the Argentine style.

In a small fort, clinging to the hill, the Forte da Rocheira restaurant seems to protect the city from a possible enemy coming by the river. In this rather picturesque setting, the Forte da Rocheira offers a good and varied cuisine, but one also comes there and especially for the very nice view on the river. You can then go to the belvedere just opposite, the "mirante da rocheira". The view from there embraces the old town of Penedo and the Sao Francisco river. Fish and seafood are the main dishes. Good salads are also offered.

The restaurant has blended the food from Nordeste with food from Minas in the South-east of the country. The result seems to be appreciated by customers, who are still numerous. The menu is wide and the evening some pass just to get a drink and nibble. 

Several recipes from the traditional soil carne, some kind of more salty and well-cooked meat, very popular in northeastern Nordeste.

In 2010 Chief Leandro Ricardo came to rework the menu that now offers new Italian dishes with original scents. Located in a beautiful home of one of the most turbulent avenues in Recife, it is impossible to miss it. The restaurant is deemed by its servie served on Saturdays.

Beautiful decoration and view to the garden. A good restaurant in Portuguese specialities and particularly in northern Portugal (cod according to different recipes).

The map mixes traditional Portuguese recipes and Italian dishes. Kitchen mainly based on seafood and meat. Very good wine card.

A good cheap Chinese, which is doubly rare here. Specialities from different parts of China and a varied menu. The restaurant was one of the first Chinese in Recife. 35 years after the establishment of the first restaurant, the brand has developed in several cities in northeastern Northeastern France. In Recife there are two other addresses: Shopping Center Recife and Shopping Center Guararapes, à la carte service and buffet per kilo.

Housed in red-and-green Italian-style walls, just inside the tourist district of Boa Viagem, the "La Tratoria" restaurant offers fine transalpine cuisine. The classics of Italian cuisine, land and sea, are offered on a good menu, complete without being excessive. Fettucini with shrimp, gnocchi, ragù with sausage, vitarela with mushrooms. In short, fans of Mediterranean cuisine or those looking for a break from Brazilian cuisine are sure to find what they're looking for. An interesting wine list.

In a slightly busy and very welcoming 14-table setting, reminiscent of Marius Degustare in Rio, the Prudente 242 restaurant is as good as it is aesthetically pleasing. It's true that you feel like you're walking into an antique store. Here, it's the rich mineira cuisine that takes pride of place. Tutu mineiro, pork chop with goiaba sauce, homemade rice with garlic... Great classics revisited with brio. If you finish your meal with the sweet trio, you'll feel like you're in paradise, especially if you've enjoyed the various cocktails in moderation. Worth knowing.

Bar da Perua is a bar and restaurant that offers quality regional cuisine. One of the specialities is goat meat, which is very present in the Nordeste, as goat breeding adapts very well to the biogeography of the Nordeste, and carne do sol, another traditional dish. Pirao, beans and chicken gizzards are other "arguments" on the menu that have made the reputation of this simple, friendly and typically regional establishment. A real culinary dive in the Nordeste. The dishes are good value for money.

The Leite is certainly the oldest restaurant in operation in Recife, it was founded in 1882. The great names of business, politics and culture have frequented this establishment. The place is refined, the guests are received under the pleasant music of a grand piano. The show continues in the plate. They serve a good varied cuisine of meat and fish. We will try the lobster with champagne (89 R$). The most popular dessert is the grilled banana covered with cheese, sugar and cinnamon, the cartola.

The Nordeste culinary tradition is omnipresent in Pernambuco and in Recife in particular. The Parraxaxa is a good and traditional self-service restaurant of Nordestino food in a pleasant setting, with a typical decoration of the region. On Sundays, the restaurant opens its doors at 7am and offers a special brunch where you will enjoy many nordestine specialities. Pleasant service. There are now two Parraxaxa restaurants, one in the residential area of Casa Forte, the other in Boa Viagem.

In the beautiful Pousada do Amparo, the Flor do Côco restaurant offers quality regional cuisine. The kitchen has been arranged so that you can see all the stages of preparation of the dishes and admire its beautiful rustic décor. The appetite is whetted even before the plate arrives. You feel as if you are in an old colonial farmhouse surrounded by pots and pans and beautiful scenery. It is a subtle combination of Brazilian cuisine with a contemporary sophistication. Beautiful flavours to discover and an unforgettable view of Recife.

In the upper town, girded in the red and green colors of Italy, the Don Francesco Trattoria is an address that honors transalpine cuisine. Close to the "Quatro Cantos", where all the Olinda carnival lines gather, don Francesco is undoubtedly one of the best Italian restaurants in the region. Spaghetti carbonara, ricotta ravioli, risotto, gnocchi... the classic and the not-so-classic are all on the menu, to the delight of gourmets. Quite good value for money.
