Numerous domestic flights and a few international flights to Portugal, Spain and the USA. To get from the airport to the city center :

Metro. Metro line 2 connects the airport to downtown Salvador in 30 minutes for R$3.90. Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday until 2 p.m.

Bus and cab. Cooperative" cab fares are quite excessive. Negotiate with shared cabs for R$130. The bus is less convenient. Daytime. Departures every 20 minutes.

The airlines present are : GOl, TAM, Azul and Avianca. Many daily flights within Brazil.

Flights João Pessoa - Brasilia : daily direct flights with Latam, and Gol (2 h 45 min).

Flights João Pessoa - São Paulo : direct flights with Latam and Gol (3 h 35 min).

The airport project was slow to take off, but since March 2014 commercial activities have been resumed and now Parnaiba Airport is functional and fulfilling its function, even though there are not many flights there. Work is underway to increase its infrastructure so that it can accommodate more than one large port aircraft at a time.
