In a traditional Saami setting, the Scandic Hotel's restaurant offers traditional recipes using local produce, adapted to today's tastes. On the first floor, with a view of the outside, the setting is not unpleasant. And as tradition dictates, meals are served around a wood fire. Breakfast is also served here. It's also Karasjok's only upmarket restaurant, as the prices on the menu suggest. Many locals mingle here with hotel guests.

In the evening, à la carte, it is more expensive but it is a refined and high quality cuisine that allows you to discover Lappish dishes, especially reindeer, the flagship product of the region. Good wine suggestions. A little piece of advice, the restaurant is even better appreciated after a good spa session, just a few meters away! In summer, the restaurant offers concerts, and its large terrace allows you to enjoy the midnight sun.

A little unlikely to find a Thai restaurant in this small town in the depths of Norway! Don't be fooled by this little shop window! Mrs. Jin As will welcome her customers with a simple and generous cuisine. You will find with pleasure traditional dishes such as pad thai, fried noodles with vegetables, or curries that will warm up the customers after a day of hiking, or after having raced down the ski slopes. It is possible to order dishes a little less typical of Thailand like sushi!

With its wooden chalet look, Rallar'n Kro & Pub offers refined cuisine using quality, mainly local produce. Beef, reindeer and fish are on the menu. Plates are beautifully presented, and service is friendly. You can also enjoy a Norwegian beer in a cosy, subdued setting. In fine weather, you can sit out on the terrace for a drink and to enjoy the long days. At weekends, local bands entertain the evenings. The place is central and very popular with locals.

Corner Spiseri is probably the restaurant in Honningsvåg with the best view of the sea. In a relaxed and cozy atmosphere (the dimmed lights and the floor add a certain elegance to the place), customers can enjoy local specialties based on salmon and other fish while admiring the sun setting behind the mountains, or simply enjoy a beer at the counter. Meat lovers can order stews. Hamburgers and some fried food are also available.

Just like at home, Rodolf and Anita open the door of their little house. The buffet is varied every day, with a wide choice of salads, fish, salmon and other carefully prepared local products. Skolestua is an old school, and the restaurant room is reminiscent of it: school chairs, wooden tables, slates, overlooking the fjord. As they say here, the Klatrekaféen is at the same time "an English pub, a Nepalese tea house, a restaurant in the South of France and a base camp on Everest" and it's true, at the strait of a pretty alley decorated with Nepalese prayer flags, the Klatrékaféen is a bit of all that, a nice mix of genres, a warm place that offers to everyone to be a bit at home and yet so far away. The café-restaurant offers something to eat, small dishes, pastries, drinks etc... Our favourite place in Henningsvaer.

Svinøya Rorbuer's restaurant, Børsen Spiseri, offers exceptional cuisine in a charming setting full of history. In this old house built in 1828, with its crisp flooring, you can sit comfortably around one of the candle-lit wooden tables to enjoy the specialty, dried cod, or stockfish, in all its forms! Of course, the restaurant offers a choice of several dishes (based on fish, of course, but not only) made from local products and cooked with invention and originality.

A very nice address in Svolvaer. We'd recommend it as a bar, but Bacalao also offers an attractive menu at very reasonable prices (burger, salads, fish & chips, mussels & French fries, vegetarian dishes). The HQ of the local youth, the spacious bar with its subdued atmosphere and surf décor, the open fire in winter and the atmospheric playlist: the place is warm and cosy, and you soon feel right at home. In summer, Bacalao's large terrace overlooks the harbour. On weekends, bands also perform here.

One of the best addresses on the island can be found south of the Lofoten in Sorvagen. Welcome to the Maren Anna, where Annette, Jean Baptiste and their team welcome you all year round with a smile. Their specialty? The Stockfish of course! We also invite you to taste the fish soup, saithe and many other specialties cooked with care and imagination. During the day, the place could be compared to a good brasserie, while the restaurant wears its evening dress and is akin to a "good table".

On the 16th and top floor of Scandic City, you will find the panoramic Totta bar with a beautiful terrace. Ideal to end the evening in beauty. Every morning a great breakfast is served. You can have a good time at the buffet and skip lunch without any problems! There is a wide choice of sweet and savoury dishes.

In summer, a superb terrace, very classy, allows you to settle outside and enjoy the long awaited sun rays. In the evening, the colours are breathtaking. As for the cuisine, the dishes are varied, local and at very affordable prices. A place to visit absolutely for a relaxing moment!

An uncompromising address that offers a wide choice of snacks at any time of the day: kebab, salads, hamburgers and some Indian dishes. All of this at low prices. Located near the train station, practical.

Asian restaurant that is both spacious and intimate. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and warm. The decor is lounge-like and classy, with light fixtures and wooden materials. Ohma is without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in town. Thai influences too. There is also the possibility to take the buffet option, which is really great to be able to taste all the dishes and to fill up with flavours! You can order to take away. A smiling and caring team. An address for gourmets!

Bjørk Restaurant is located on the second floor of Glasshuset (Shopping Gallery). The place is trendy and fashionable with its bay windows. In the evening, the place is perfect for occasions, as well as for everyday meals. On the menu: pizzas, tapas, meats and the chef's recommendation: grilled cod served with peas and potatoes aioli. For dessert, we recommend the Bomboloni: a warm bread roll filled with lemon cream served with pistachio cream and pear compote. Both elegant and unpretentious.

It all started in 2015, when two friends Sirly and Heidi decided to make their dream come true. On the hotel side, you can enjoy the five standard rooms or the two deluxe ones. In 2018, the place was even voted best new boutique hotel in Europe. You can go there with your eyes closed! As for the restaurant, it is up to the rest. Sirly, a former participant in Finnish Masterchef, offers you sublime and delicious plates: perfectly married flavours, products highlighted... And all this in an incredible setting. We warmly recommend it!

An unpretentious restaurant in downtown Boden. The atmosphere is charming and you can enjoy a sunny terrace in summer. The decoration is simple and the style not very crazy, but the welcome is friendly and you quickly feel at ease. One meets there between colleagues and often between regulars. On the menu, the cuisine is local and continental, the opportunity to taste the specialties of the area or to stick to the known. The choice is large, you will have to take the time to think about it. A recommended address in the city center!

In the village of Ekkerøy there is a small restaurant on the waterfront, open in summer only. Here you can find a delicious and creamy soup of fish, salmon, cod, shrimp... As if we were entering a miniature village, we are at Trasti and Trine's. At the same time room and table of hosts: in a country cottage, the rooms, in the other, a small bakery, here, the restaurant and there, the kennel... Once in the restaurant, we swap our shoes for pretty woolen slippers that slide on the floor. On the table, the plates are out of wood, engraved Trasti and Trine. An atmosphere and a warm welcome, just like this region! Beautiful surprises await you, and you will not forget them!

Just behind the Polar Museet, in Tromsø's historic district, café Bårstua has taken over an old wooden shack. People come to enjoy the local cuisine, but not only! All proceeds go to a charity working to combat addiction. You can also curl up on the sofa by the fireplace with a hot coffee and homemade cake, or soak up the sunshine on the pretty terrace. In summer, the place becomes a party venue, with concerts and lazy afternoons in the sun!

In this warm and inviting wine bar, you can choose between the cosy banquette, the little lounge on the platform, or the high tables, before ordering a good wine, whether Chilean, French or Italian... For an aperitif, we recommend the Fjøls, cheese and charcuterie boards to be enjoyed without moderation. All kinds of Italian-style boards are served in a subdued atmosphere, in a decor that's both chic and relaxed.

The setting is charming in this restaurant which proposes a refined and inventive cuisine with local colours. The plates are a pleasure to the eye and to the taste buds! The wooden tables and chairs, the striped curtains and the paintings on the walls make us want to stay for a long time in this warm and almost home-like atmosphere. They serve you in cast iron dishes, pots and other incongruous containers. A recommended intimate address. And on the mildest and sunniest evenings, the Flamingo's tree-lined terrace awaits you right next door!

Run by two young figures from Tromsø, the Bardus bistro, adjacent to the Bardus bar, will introduce you to local specialities in an inventive way. Here, the atmosphere is bistronomic on the plate and relaxed at the table. The products are fresh, local and seasonal and the cuisine is influenced by southern Europe, which we assume is France. In a wooded setting, we are happy to settle down for a meal that will hang out. In the summer, if the sun is shining, we settle down on the veranda terrace to enjoy a bit of sweetness.

A popular spot in Boden, and rightly so. Bastard Burgers may be a chain, but it's a no-brainer. You come here for the casual atmosphere and the "butcher shop chic" style. White tiles all over the place, industrial style decoration, music and of course, a menu that will give you a hard time to choose. A choice of burgers all more inventive than the others, without forgetting the burger of the month. You can eat to your heart's content and vegans or vegetarians are not left out and will also find their happiness. A place highly recommended!

In an old house full of charm, this restaurant serves good pizzas and proposes a menu of meats and fish. This is a good address to sit down to a meal when you are in Kemi, especially as the welcome is rather pleasant. We go there as much for the varied menu as for the place, in the middle of the park and very close to the shore, rather unusual for a pizzeria! Be careful, the site is entirely in Finnish, for a little English, see "Pizzalista".

A very good restaurant, with a warm atmosphere, which works well with regional flavours. Despite the somewhat high prices, the quality is there and it's a perfect place to try Arctic fish or reindeer specialties. The dishes first seduce the eyes, before delighting the taste buds with their finesse and quality. From the starter to the dessert, you will be won over! A fine wine list to accompany everything, with some good whisky too! The atmosphere is warm, the service is attentive... What more could you ask for?

Must visit! This small address, which has been attracting locals since 2015, is the place to go in Rovaniemi. Trendy atmosphere and Finnish bistronomy, this is a good spot to taste local specialties, deliciously revisited, at low prices. We like the warm welcome, the cosy atmosphere and the quality cuisine. The traditional Finnish salmon soup is excellent, as is the mushroom risotto. And the desserts are as good as the rest!

The Ice Hotel's restaurant is an excellent restaurant run by starred chef Alexander Meier. It offers a fusion cuisine inspired by local specialities. The Ice Hotel is ranked the best restaurant in Kiruna and third in Swedish Lapland by the White Guide. With the added bonus of a unique setting, this is the promise of an exceptional evening at the edge of the Arctic. The kitchen team is international, so a cosmopolitan touch is given to the local ingredients, which come from the rivers, mountains, swamps and forests of the region.

The restaurant of the hotel Laponia is one of the few places to eat in Arvidsjaur. It offers extremely fine cuisine based on local products. For those who want to discover the local culinary specialties, this is the perfect opportunity. For the others who like a cuisine with European standards, don't panic, the menu leaves you the choice. The restaurant is very pleasant, decorated in a rather sober style of Lappish inspiration of course and decorated with chandeliers. It is in short a very recommended restaurant in the city!

This café is perhaps the warmest place in town, and the food is good. It feels like home and for the same price as in a kebab shop, you can eat healthy food! It is also possible to have a coffee (always at will) and a small pastry. Don't miss the eternal Fika, it's at this occasion, between 3 and 4 pm, that the locals meet to chat around a hot drink and a delicacy.

Giving directly on the Ajtte museum, this restaurant is ideal for the lunch break. One meets there the inhabitants of Jokkmokk while tasting typical dishes. Above your heads, large posters representing the crafts of the Sami people. Some evenings, you can attend performances of joik, the traditional Sami song. Ideal for museum visitors, who after discovering the Saami culture will be able to deepen their knowledge of the local cuisine! Simple decor, but as always very welcoming.

Petronella refers to the intrepid woman journalist and adventurer known for her participation in the 1949 gold rush to the region. In 1989, Saara Mehtäjärvi created this restaurant that pays homage to her by offering a cuisine that highlights Scandinavian products by the fire. The dishes are superb and delicious: both the cep soup and the fish of the day. For the sweet side, the mille-feuille and the chocolate fondant are exquisite. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and one spends a pleasant evening there.

The Pit Stop Café and Restaurant, despite its American restaurant/drive-through look, offers a menu that includes traditional dishes, pizzas and burgers. The generous plates will satisfy big appetites. Ideal for a stopover for travelers in motorhomes or motorcyclists, the service is fast and friendly. All in all, a good roadside restaurant that will satisfy both a backpacker and a family audience. The plus : access to a terminal for electric cars !

A rather nice option and very popular with Norwegians. Lovolds is a native Bodø chain and you can eat there in a family canteen atmosphere. The big plus is the view of the harbour, the boats, the seagulls playing with the wind and the sun. You can choose from a selection of classic dishes, sandwiches and salads. Each day of the week a special is offered at a special price, for example Tuesday it is a shrimp wrap + coffee for 85 NOK. An address with many meat dishes.

The Lavvu restaurant belongs to the Igloo Hotel. The setting is neat, a mix of wood and modern lines. You'll taste reindeer, lamb, salmon, local berries picked in the area and many other Sami specialties. A fine address, for comfortable budgets, that lets you live the adventure of a change of scenery to the full. Rest assured, if some of the locals are made of ice, the restaurant is a real one! No need to put on your ski gear, and no risk of getting stuck to the cutlery!

This restaurant belongs to the Ice Hotel. Located in a former school, in a restored wooden building dating from 1768, the establishment does not lack charm. Its setting, on the banks of the river Torne, in the middle of old traditional houses, as well as its rather traditional menu, make it a choice stop in Jukkasjärvi. The food here is just as good as in the restaurant in front of the hotel, but in a completely different setting. In summer and winter, the place invites you to relax and contemplate. Remember to book well in advance.

This is the hotel's pub and restaurant. It is located in the basement, but is very popular with the locals. A taste: the Arctic Menu.

The culinary concept is Asian cuisine mixed with some Scandinavian ideas. You can go there by snowmobile, there is of course a place to park them in front of the restaurant! The windows are very big, so you can have a great view of the surrounding nature. A great experience for the eyes and the taste buds.

The establishment is famous for tasting and selling coffee, but it also sells delicious home-made sweet and savoury dishes. Obviously burgers, but also the famous six-hearted waffles typical of Norway. Very nice for any kind of break: for coffee, lunch, snack or dinner, or even just to have a glass of wine. The hot chocolates are to die for!

A restaurant of Indian cuisine. The menu is varied and the dishes are very good. If you're tired of burgers and sushi, if you're in the mood for a light meal and why not vegetarian, then here's the Great Gandhi. For the undecideds, in other words, for those who don't like to choose so as not to give up, this restaurant had the good idea to propose a buffet with three dishes to choose from (lamb curry + vegetarian korma + chicken curry) with salad, rice, naans, coffee and dessert, all for 389 NOK. Top notch!
