15th century castle where Josephine Baker and her family lived, with a chapel, formal gardens and a bird of prey show

Built in the late 15th century by the lord of Château de Castelnaud, Château des Milandes is famous for having been the home of Josephine Baker. The visit is designed as a journey into the world of this great artist. Owner Angélique de Saint-Exupéry is constantly improving the buildings, tours and events. The grounds have been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label. Since January 2024, an escape game plunges you into the life of its illustrious former owner.

Magnificent castle in the heart of black Perigord. The visit however was opposed by constant flow visitors not always eco-friendly (scuffles...). The highlight of the visit was the birds of prey who was very instructive.
