Listed as one of France's most beautiful villages, Castelnaud is a great place to explore on foot, through the old cobbled streets that lead up to the castle, a lookout point at the confluence of the Céou and Dordogne rivers. The higher you climb, the more incredible the scenery! Don't miss the village's panoramic fountain, as well as the delicious patisserie and the walnut eco-museum on the way down. After the effort and a welcome dip in the Dordogne from the beach, take the small road that follows the river on the left bank to the Château des Milandes, made famous by Josephine Baker. On the way, admire the magnificent Château de Fayrac (private).
