A magnificent museum on medieval warfare and lifestyle
Built in the 12th century on a rocky outcrop overlooking the confluence of the Céou and Dordogne rivers, this fortress was the scene of many warlike confrontations during the time of the Cathars, the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. Its collection of weapons and armor, and life-size reconstructions of war machines, provide a rare insight into the art of warfare in the Middle Ages. Self-guided tours include extensive, educational signage. Several themed guided tours are available.

Superbe Chateau
Très beau château avec de nombreuses reconstitutions. Très didactique également pour les enfants. Magnifique vue sur la Dordogne.

Le Chateau
Superbe château dominant avec force la vallée de la Dordogne. Bâti sur un éperon rocheux, le panorama à 360°est exceptionnel sur le Périgord Noir. C’est une fortification médiévale en parfait état. A l’intérieur superbe musée avec collection d’armures, d’armes, d’objets et œuvres. A conseiller avec des enfants car visite ludique.
