Fascinating and cleverly curated museum — well worth a visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Tobacco Museum in Bergerac. It’s surprisingly interesting and very cleverly arranged. Although all the written information throughout the museum is in French, the visit begins with an excellent short film (around 15 minutes) that explains the history of tobacco — with English subtitles. This film provides a solid foundation, so you’re able to understand and appreciate everything you see afterwards, even without translations on the displays.
The museum also features some interactive screens and a surprising amount of art related to tobacco — from advertising to fine art, which adds a rich cultural layer to the experience.
The entrance fee is very reasonable at only €5 for adults, and children go free, which makes it a great family option. There’s also a small gift shop at the entrance with tobacco related books and other little things
One tip: be aware that the museum closes for lunch between 12:00 and 14:00, so plan your visit accordingly.
Highly recommended if you’re in Bergerac and looking for something a bit different!

Entrée du musée facile, très beau et belle présentation de l'évolution du tabac depuis sa création. Intérêt avec le commerce, l'histoire, l'art, le niveau social et surtout l'évolution de la perception du tabac : ses bienfaits et oui le tabac soignait...

Beau musée , petit bémol il serait intéressant de parler de l'industrie du tabac aujourd'hui. Prix très raisonnable .

Musée très intéressant sur l’origine de cette plante dont les origines remonte au Maya
Cette culture a été très présente dans cette région de bergerac en Aquitaine durant le 20 siècle

Très belle collection de pipes,tabatière etc...
Quel dommage de ne pas avoir une vidéo sur la culture du tabac (la plantation, les différentes étapes de la culture, le ramassage, le séchage, les différents séchoirs, etc....).
C'est tout de même le musée du tabac !!!

Le lieu déjà est très beau, il ne faut surtout pas hésiter à entrer car la visite est vraiment très intéressante. Ce n'est pas cher , profitez en !

Interesante, museo dedicado al tabaco, te explican en breve la historia, después puedes ver disposición de pipas y artículos relacionados con tabaco.

Depuis le temps que l'on voulait le faire ça y c'est fait.C’était un dimanche et nous passions à Bergerac et ce jour la c'est gratuit qu'elle surprise, mais bon pour 5e on ne va pas en mourir.
Ce musée et très joli,avec de belles pièces en exposition nous avons beaucoup apprécié, de plus nous sommes autorisé à prendre des photos. Il faut compter 1 heure à 1h30 de visite

A interesting museum over 4 floors with many items to look at but it is ruined to the fact the exhibits are not translated to English and are all in French. Price is fair for museum. Worth a visit.

As someone with 0 interest in tobacco I was surprised at how good this exhibition was. Very interesting with alot to see! Would recommend it to anyone visiting Bergerac.

un petit chef d'œuvre de muséographie. D'une richesse incroyable, sans équivalent en Europe. Cartels didactiques, très bien faits, variété d'objet incroyable. Pour 5 euros on apprend tout sue l'industrie du tabac

situé dans le vieux bergerac c'est un musé assez insolite, on apprend beaucoup de chose sur l'histoire du tabac et de la pipe
