Fishing museum offering a discovery of maritime traditions to know the fishing techniques and their history.

The Fishing Museum invites you to discover the maritime traditions: history, fishing techniques, fish conservation. The immersive room, at the end of the tour, offers interactive devices to experience the world of fishing. If you opt for a guided tour, one of its strong points will be the free access to the Hémérica, from the hold to the wheelhouse. For children, it is possible to celebrate their birthday at the museum. For teenagers, they can opt for a murder party for a unique evening at the museum.

I dragged myself to this museum to kill time while waiting for a bus and my goodness am I glad I did! The focus on all aspects of fishing - from the boats to nets to ropes to the animals to the canning and industrialisation - is strong, the aesthetic is lovely, dioramas are fantastic, and many of the animals are hand taxidermied! The building itself has a beautiful wooden ceiling so remember to look up as you walk around. I loved it so much that I bought a tote and fridge magnets. A really wonderful regional museum.
