Important remains of two Gallo-Roman baths were updated in the cemetery wall in 1867 and 1869 attesting to the seniority of the human settlement in these places. The current town is also located at one of the ends of an ancient road linking Morlaix to Lannion through the Foreshore, which did not have the same configuration in ancient times. It appears in relation to the foundation of a priory whose origins are probably directly linked to the presence of the monks of Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey on the League of Strike. The bishop of Tréguier made the donation in 1086 of Mount Hyrglas, the Great Rocher, his dependencies and the tithe of Plestin. Today, however, the exact implantation of this priory is unknown.
