The tower of Cesson (14th century) was built around 1395 following the orders of the duke of Brittany Jean IV de Montfort so as to have control over Saint-Brieuc. Cesson became the residence of the duke Jean V during his visits to Briochine city. It became a ducal property in 1423 when it is used as a prison by Morice de Ploësquellec. At the start of the League wars, the tower was very useful. It was ceased in 1598 by the count de Brissac who ordered its demolition. One of its parts was used as a daymark for sailors from 1625. The current ruins were classified as a historic monument since 1926.

Mis à part l'aspect historique, la visite de cette tour en ruine qui se fait via un chemin, n'a aucun intérêt.
