You may know this, but no less than five castles rise between Moncontour, Hénon and Quessoy, witnesses to the splendour and wealth of the parliamentarians who built these magnificent residences in the 16th century. It is possible to admire and visit the exteriors of the castles of La Touche-Tréby, Catuelan, Colombier, Granges and Bogar during walks. For more information, contact the tourist information office. The Maison de la Chouannerie et de la Révolution presents the models of these houses of parliamentarians in the country of Moncontour. In addition, the medieval garden of Hildegarde Bingen, a pioneer of naturopathy, can also be visited on Sunday afternoons in summer. It is located within the walls of the Château de Moncontour.
