This basilica overlooking the River Rance is one of the most original in Brittany.

This basilica is one of the most original in Brittany. It was built in the 12th century, with a Romanesque-Byzantine façade, and developed in Flamboyant Gothic style in the 15th and 16th centuries. Highlights include the vaulted ceiling, the monumental granite credence-table, the statuette of the Virgin and Child, and the font with two fish in high relief. Not forgetting the cenotaph containing the heart of Bertrand du Guesclin, a figure from the Hundred Years' War. Take a detour to the Jardin Anglais, at the rear of the building, for a superb view of the port.

Cette basilique conserve le cœur de Bertrand de DUGUESCLIN, dont le corps est conservé dans 4 sépultures différentes. Elle offre aussi au regard des visiteurs, une très belle voûte, un bénitier avec ses poissons en haut relief, sa statue de la vierge et l'enfant. Sur ses murs se trouvent des masques de personnages et d'animaux faisant des grimaces. La visite s'achève par le jardin anglais, d'où on a une superbe vue sur la vallée de la Rance.

Belle basilique, aux dimensions considérables, qui mélange élégamment des éléments romans et gothiques. Le tympan roman avec le Christ rédempteur en pantocrator et spécialement touchant.

La basilique est magnifique avec un style roman et gothique et des vitraux qui procure un éclairage superbe. On y trouve le cénotaphe du coeur de Bertrand Du Guesclin et la facade de la basilique s'ouvre par un porche surmonté d'un pignon gothique flamboyant. L'atmosphère est réellement paisible, à faire!

La pause sérénité de notre journée à Dinan. Le soleil jouait avec les vitraux , laissant ses rayons se colorer et ainsi repeindre furtivement les murs.
Le calme reigne dans ce lieu de recueillement. N'hésitez surtout pas à pénétrer à l'intérieur .
