Here's an address widely acclaimed by the people of Tonnerre, and with good reason: after a notable stint at the Plaza Athénée and the Taillevent cellar (no less!), sommelier Patrice Vidaller decided to settle in Tonnerre a few years ago. His ambition? To introduce visitors to exceptional wines and spirits, as well as more affordable, quality wines. Of course, his advice is always top-notch, and so is the atmosphere. You can even treat yourself to regional products to accompany your tastings.

LE CELLIER

There's no need to visit the Hôtel Dieu to take a break in this 18th-century vaulted cellar. The site's reception area is also a wine cellar, with around a hundred references available as well as local products. Taste the epineuil, and especially the very local Hospices de Tonnerre cuvée Marguerite de Bourgogne 2020. Plates of local produce (Chaource, charcuterie, etc.) are also available, to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the pleasant terrace. Finally, food and wine pairing workshops are organized on a regular basis.
