ABBAYE SAINT-PHILIBERT
Abbey with Romanesque architecture, one of the few monasteries of the twelfth century to be preserved in Europe, hosts events.
This abbey is one of the few remaining well-preserved 12th-century buildings. A jewel of Romanesque architecture, it dominates the town with its imposing towers and fortress-like appearance. The bright nave features colossal vaults, frescoes and a monumental organ (1629). Another special feature is a visit to the basement to see the foundations and the crypt, which houses the sarcophagus of Saint-Valérien, evangelizer of Tournus. Throughout the year, the various parts of the abbey host a variety of events, including a renowned organ festival.
