Tournus, a small town in Burgundy, is known as the small capital of the Tournugeois region. With its 5500 inhabitants, it offers a pleasant and charming setting. Tournus is ideally located 40 km south of Mâcon and 1 hour's drive north of Dijon. A major motorway links Tournus to Lyon and eastern France. Tournus is home to numerous neighborhoods and hamlets, including Monplaisir, Croix Léonard, La Croisette, Baraban and many others. The Tournus real estate market has declined by almost 12% over the past 10 years, but has stabilized over the past two years, with price trends virtually flat. Neighboring towns, such as Boyer, Le Villars, Mancey and Simandre, show similar price trends. Currently, around one in two people in Tournus owns their principal residence, with most properties being houses with more than 3 rooms. Apartments for sale are rare, but it's easier to find a T2 or T3 to rent.
