Discover prehistory in the departmental museum through a collection of rich European prehistoric sites.
Buried at the foot of the Roche de Solutré, the Musée de Préhistoire presents collections (laurel leaves, cave bear skulls, horse bone "magma", engraved rhinoceros ribs...) from one of Europe's richest prehistoric sites. Workshops for children, with enthusiastic guides, are also organized around the temporary exhibition (on the origins of man until November 2025, then on flint). Outside, a large archaeological and botanical trail evokes geology, prehistoric hunting and the landscape of the past.
