Founded in the 1970s, this furnace pit is one of the remnants of the Drée valley's industrial and mining past.
The Puits des Fourneaux is one of the vestiges of the industrial and mining past of the Drée valley. Created in the 1910s, it is 130 metres deep and employed up to 128 workers before closing down permanently in 1950. Left abandoned, only the old masonry headframe marked HCE (Houillères et Chemins de fer d'Epinac), unique in France, resisted time
