Facing Es Castell, Cala Llonga is a small urbanization overlooking the port of Maó and the famous Illa del Rei. A rather exclusive residential area - home to the villas of international celebrities such as Elton John and Richard Branson - its south-westerly orientation means it enjoys ideal sunshine, as well as superb views over the port of Maó. While the village itself offers little of interest apart from its characteristic tranquility, it is a gateway to the wild coastlines of Sa Mesquida and Es Murtar, as well as to the fortress of La Mola, a monumental former military base.
