Cranbrook is a small community of less than 100 people located about 20 kilometers north of Swansea. It is believed that the name of the community comes from a namesake town in Kent, in the south of England. The name is derived from Old English words for "a marsh or brook of cranes". Many wineries are established in the area, such as Milton Vineyard, Gala Estate, Springvale Wines, Craigie Knowe and The Bend, a little further south. Most of them offer a tasting cellar, and some even offer catering services. The region produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and other grape varieties.
