A mountainous region of Western Australia, located 75 km north of Albany, this national park covers 115,670 ha. It was named in honor of Western Australia's first governor, Captain James Stirling. Five of the park's peaks rise above 1,000 m, including Bluff Knoll (1,095 m). In mid-winter, these mountains receive a light covering of snow. There are a number of trails to observe wildlife and wildflowers, and hikes to the summits. The ascent of Bluff Knoll takes 3h30 and offers superb views. Mount Toolbrunup (3h) is also a popular climb, especially during the wildflower season.
