HÔTEL-DIEU – APOTHICAIRERIE
Hôtel-Dieu run by the Sainte-Marthe community, then became the Louhans hospital with a courtyard leading to the wards.
Its roofs may not be as spectacular as those of its counterpart in Beaune, but the Hôtel-Dieu de Louhans, built in the 17th and 18th centuries, is nevertheless one of the most beautiful in France. Perfectly preserved, this architectural ensemble has stood the test of time. Guided tours by appointment include access to the patients' wards, the former refectory and the apothecary, with its fabulous collection of earthenware medicine jars.
