CHÂTEAU DE LEYNES
Chateau in a vineyard with swimming pool in Leynes with gîtes for 5 persons and animals allowed.
Overlooking the village, Leynes castle has had a turbulent history since its construction in the 9th century. Originally a priory, it was occupied by various powers, and was taken and recaptured many times until the 17th century. Returned to the Tournus abbey, then dismembered after the French Revolution, it only regained its unity in 1958, when it became a vacation camp. Today, this fortified building is home to two tastefully renovated gîtes for families or groups. These are comfortable, good-value accommodations with a lovely garden.
