Travel Guide O Carballiño

O Carballiño (14 000 inhabitants) is crossed by the Arenteiro river. The impressive Temple of Veracruz, a recent work (1943-1957) of medieval inspiration by Antonio Palacios Ramilo, is the real emblem of the town. The major tourist attraction of the city lies however in its status of seaside resort. The thermal waters, known since Roman times, are accessible in the Caldas de Partovia and the Gran Balneario. The river Arenteiro offers some beautiful river beaches. To the south of the town you can see the terraced vineyards from which the wines of Ribeiro are produced.
