Located northeast of the Evangeline region in Malpeque Bay, Lennox Island is accessible by the small bridge on Route 163. It is first and foremost the site of a Micmac Nation, the Lennox Island First Nation. Its lobster processing plant, Minigoo Fisheries, was the first in the country to be owned and operated by natives when it opened in 2010. The island is worth a visit to delve into the history and traditions of the nation. The community offers a variety of cultural immersion workshops that can be found on the Experience Lennox Island website or on the Band Council website.
