Tizi n'Tichka (Berber for "pass of the pastures") is the highest pass in Morocco. Despite the cool winds on these slopes, the vast steppe-like meadows provide excellent summer pastures for the herds. In spring, shepherds from the villages on the other side of the valley go to the refuges to spend the hot season. The summit of Tizi n'Tichka marks the separation between the provinces of Marrakech and Ouarzazate. You can eat at the inn located between two mineral merchants, it is recommended by a rusty sign of the Guide des gastronomes français, in place since... 1939!
