The Imbak canyon is actually a narrow valley with spectacular views. This scientific base, which includes several accommodation facilities, recently opened its doors to the public. It's possible to spend several days here, hiking through the jungle. From a leisurely stroll to the Imbak waterfall, to the discovery of the forest inhabited by gibbons and a multitude of birds, to strenuous hikes to the surrounding hilltops, there's something for everyone. On the way to the reserve, we pass through the abandoned village of Imbak, whose inhabitants had to flee because of malaria.
