This relatively little-visited site, designated a National Park in 1984, is one of the best preserved in Sabah. It is also the largest, with a forest cover of 1,400 km². Its particularly rugged and steep terrain requires a great deal of physical effort. Numerous rivers rise here, and the park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including orangutans, gibbons, tarsiers, macaques, bears, civets, marbled cats and wild boar. The park's main attraction is the biodiversity of its ecosystem. From KK, take the bus to Keningau on the Padang Merdeka. Once in Keningau, a cab will take you the last few kilometers.
