Just off the Route Express in Charolles, the cradle of the Charolais cattle breed, the Maison du Charolais is a space dedicated to the breed. It teaches everything there is to know about this breed typical of the local prairies and recognizable by its white coat. The establishment features a museum, tastings, a discovery trail, a store and a restaurant. On an audio tour of the museum, you'll learn why and how this region and its breeders have made the Charolais "one of France's finest cattle breeds".

Closed from December 24 to January 3. Closed November 1. Low season: open daily from 11am to 5pm. High season: daily from 10am to 6pm. Free for children under 6. Adults: €7.90 (self-guided tour with audioguide and tasting or €5.80 without tasting). Children (6 to 12 years): €4.10. For groups of 20 or more, please book in advance. Groups, leisure centers and schools welcome on reservation (✆ 03 85 88 04 00). Average length of visit: 1h30. Children's workshop €6.60. Tourism & Handicap label. Audiodescriptive tour for visually impaired visitors. Label e-branché and Aventures Mômes. Children's welcome. Guided tours (by reservation for groups).
