This village of just 1,000 inhabitants, situated in the heart of Barbagia at the foot of the Gennargentu massif, is famous for its chestnuts. Chestnut craftsmanship is an important economic activity for the village. The Chestnut Festival takes place on the last weekend in October, an event that attracts 50,000 visitors over two days every year! On foot or by bike, Aritzo and the surrounding villages (Belvi, Atzara, Sorono or Tonara) are a paradise for lovers of wilderness and authentic encounters. Less impressive than the Supramonte, these landscapes have the advantage of being less crowded.
