VIA ROMANA DEL CAPSACOSTA
The Via Romana de Capsacosta was the only road connecting the Camprodon valley to the Bianya valley
In Roman times, the Via Romana de Capsacosta was a secondary road on the Via Augusta, the main communications route linking Rome to Cadiz via the Pyrenees. It was the only road linking the Camprodon and Bianya valleys. The only part of this ancient road to have survived the centuries, still accessible today, is 8 kilometers long and links the village of Sant Pau de Segúries (Ripollès) to Traginers (Garrotxa). The walk takes in the ancient cobblestones of the route, as well as elements linked to its construction: sewers, stone quarries, bridges, water reservoirs and much more. A superb walk in the footsteps of our Roman ancestors.
