The impressive cliffs surrounding the village of Sant Martí de Llémena are home to prehistoric settlements dating back to the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Ages (3500-700 BC). Embedded in the rocky walls of Rocafesa are several caves: boratuna, where Neolithic pottery has been found; Roc del Mirador, with a single chamber that was probably a burial cave from the late Bronze Age (1200-700 BC); Pla d'en Tallada, also a Chalcolithic or Bronze Age burial cave; and Fontsaveu, the most accessible, also inhabited during the Chalcolithic period (around 2000 BC).
