CAPE ROIG BOTANICAL GARDEN
Botanical garden located on a small peninsula south of the village of Calella houses nearly 1,000 botanical species
Situated on a small peninsula south of the village of Calella, it is rightly considered one of the most important botanical gardens in the Mediterranean area, and a visit to it will be a great pleasure. Cap Roig's origins date back to 1927, when Colonel Voevodsky bought the estate to build a castle. His wife, an English aristocrat with a passion for architecture, was responsible for creating the garden, which is structured around descending terraces running from the château to the sea. Today, this marvellous 17-hectare setting is home to almost 1,000 botanical species from all over the world, as well as sculptures by renowned artists. Every summer, the prestigious Festival Jardins de Cap Roig offers a first-rate musical selection in this incomparable setting.
