This museum, founded in 1972, aims to give an account of the importance of the production of cork caper in the whole region
Founded in 1972, this museum aims to show the importance of the production of caper cork throughout the region. Hence the choice of the building, a former modernist factory Can Mario, designed by General Guitart at the beginning of the 20th century, which was the largest cork factory in Spain and one of the most important in the world. And of course, its iron water tower, which rises to 35 metres, has become one of the city's emblematic silhouettes.
