Message from Management
Torroella de Montgrí-L'Estartit, a municipality in the Baix Empordà region, embodies the essence of the comarca. Remarkable for its contrasts and beauty, it divides Alt and Baix Empordà by the Montgrí massif, a rock formation popularly known as the "Dead Bishop" because of its particular geographical configuration, crowned by the unfinished 13th-century castle.
The mountain, an island in the middle of the fertile plain along the last stretch of the Ter, offers the highest vantage point.
But it's not just Montgrí castle that leaves an indelible mark on this landscape, it's also the steep coastline, with its delightful, secret coves, and the Medes islands. For anyone who has experienced a sea with islands, it's impossible to imagine a sea postcard where there aren't any.

L'Estartit celebrates Halloween and All Saints' Day with plenty of activities for the whole family. Castanada populaire, tunnel of terror and music.
Saint Andreu Agricultural Fair
From 2023-11-25 at 2023-11-26
on November 25 and 26, the town celebrates Catalonia's oldest agricultural and trade fair, now in its 629th year. It's an agricultural and comercial fair, but also a family event. Sant Andreu features a farm animal area where cows take center stage with new breeds, the Girona Provincial Pigeon Championship, a sheepdog competition and numerous activities such as workshops, pétanque championships, guided tours of the local church, rhythmic gymnastics demonstrations, quiz time, concerts and popular parades.
