ST. ANNENKIRCHE - SAINT ANN'S CHURCH

Built between 1499 and 1525, this sumptuous church is one of the most beautiful Gothic-style churches in Germany. Its painted and richly decorated vault is a marvel for the eyes, as is the altar carved by Hans Hesse, its heavy door adorned with angels and saints and its stone portal, whose rustic and mountain appearance offers a striking contrast with the refined interior of the building. Outside the church is a statue in tribute to Martin Luther, the author of the Protestant Reformation.
