If there is a day excursion from Dresden, it's the beautiful Baroque castle of Moritzburg with its park. Dominating its artificial lake of its elegant orange-coloured towers, the Moritzburg could be the romantic prototype of the German fairy tale castle. We strongly advise you to take a afternoon for a visit. You have to walk the lake to see the castle by far, and if you have time to take a walk in the park until the faisanderie, the castle of des and the "pink lighthouse". A visit to the interior is worth the trouble for beautiful Salles porcelain rooms and collections and hunting weapons.
This hunting castle was built by the Prince-elector Moritz of Saxony in the sixteenth century before being remodelled in baroque style by the inevitable Auguste le Fort in 1703. A small town that lives in tourism has developed around the castle and will find all the amenities.Advertising

My last visit with Moritzburg was a bit spoiled by a bad maintenance of the park. Can be was this due to work in progress?
