Drawaqa Island can be reached in 3 hours by boat from Port Denarau. The island has magnificent beaches. A short 20-minute hike (in the morning or for sunset) takes you to the heights of the island, where the view is superb and the colors magnificent! The island's resort , Barefoot Manta, is very involved in local life and environmental preservation. 75% of the staff come from Muaria, the neighboring village, and Barefoot Manta sources its fruit and vegetables from the village. Barefoot Manta also launched a manta ray data collection program in 2013.
