El Burgo de Ebro (approximately 2 000 inhabitants) is divided into two distinct areas: the modern part and the old aljama, where the Muslim community was concentrated until its expulsion in 1610. Its San Pedro Apóstol church, th century mudéjare works, has unfortunately been replaced by modern construction. The archaeological site of La Cabañeta, located at the exit of the city, testifies to the Roman presence in this area. It is a military encampment probably erected in the second century BC.
