Small town of 554 inhabitants located at the intersection of the Glen Highway from Anchorage and the Richardson Highway to the northwest and southwest, Glennallen is a must on the way to Wrangell-St-Elias or Valdez National Park. Its name comes from the contraction of the names of two explorers of the region in the late 19th century: Edwin Glenn and Henry Tureman Allen. Equipped with several services (restaurants, gas station, grocery store), the city lives essentially from tourism.
