It is from this hamlet in Ampara district, located on the Colombo-Batticaloa Highway (A4), 20 km north of Pottuvil, and 225 km from Colombo, that you can reach the easternmost point of the island, Sangamankada Point. A small lighthouse, partly destroyed by the 2004 tsunami, stands with difficulty on the beach. The place is only worth a visit for its geographical particularity and if you are nearby. It does not offer any particular panorama. The beach at this place is still wild, but swimming is dangerous. The beach descends steeply and the water is rough and quickly becomes deep.
