The brackish lagoon expanses of Bundala National Park are home to thousands of native birds all year round, with wading birds added from September to March. This is the best time to visit the reserve where birds can be seen in the early morning. The presence of pink flamingos, coming from the Rann of Kutch in India, is one of the great attractions of the park. In the late afternoon, you can see some crocodiles, as well as lippu bears, macaques and jackals. Elephants are present between April and June.
