Rohtas Fort is a defensive complex built on the order of the Afghan chef Sher Shah Suri after his victory against the Emperor Mughal Humayun in 1541. Built on a high plain, protected to the east and to the north by the Kahan river and to the south and to the east by high hills, the fort of garrison was never stormed. Its massive walls, built in stone, extend over more than 4 kilometres. The total enclosure consists of 68 percée of twelve massive and richly decorated doors. Over the centuries, the fort was on time by Les, then by the Pashtuns and Sikhs. UNESCO called it «the most important example of the beginnings of Muslim military architecture in this region of Asia. " You can spend several hours in these vast and colossal ruins surrounded by greenery.
