After attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya (Bihar), Siddartha Gautama taught the Four Noble Truths here. Buddhist temples, monasteries and stupas mark out your visit, not forgetting the archaeological museum. You can leave Varanasi early in the morning and spend half a day in Sarnath, which is more than enoughtime.the easiest way is to take an auto-rickshaw from Varanasi for around Rs 800 return, including waiting time.
