Located in Beit-El-Raas along Malawi Road, this hotel is less than 5 km from Stone Town. The manager is Indian (Bony). This hotel is suitable for both business and leisure travellers who are looking for modern luxury, space and reasonable prices in the vicinity of Stone Town. Its strong point: a restaurant with a panoramic view on the^5th floor, nicely equipped rooms of international standard, with a balcony and a view of the sea (essential, as the other side overlooks the road), a decoration in oriental moucharabieh.

Golden Tulip is okay for a short stay while in Stone town. Beautiful ocean view however please note that this is not a swimming beach. Lovely pool area which could do with an upgrade in terms of decent lounging chairs and umbrellas. Rooms too need an upgrade. Towels are discoloured. Transfers to and from the centre of Stone town is $20 If you can get a Tuk Tuk it's only 10000 tzs one way and much quicker too because of the traffic. My only highlight of this hotel was the fantastic breakfast and awesome ocean view. With a little TLC this hotel would be fantastic ????
