The surroundings of Druskininkai are the delight of hiking enthusiasts and those who love nature.Approximately 5 km southwest of Druskininkai on the border with Belarus is the small village of Svendubrė, famous for its typical architecture. First mentioned in 1620, there are classic wooden farms in the style of the Dzūkija region. Just north of the village is the stone Švendubrė (Švendubrės Akmuo), also called the devil's stone, and about which many legends are told. From the top of the Black Mountain (Juodasis kalnas), at the intersection of the rivers Nemunykštis and Nemunas, there is an exceptional panorama. In the east of this village is the valley of Raigardas (Raigardo Slėnis), a beautiful area covered with pine and flowery meadows, ideal for walkers, in a wild and preserved nature.
