The third largest park in British Columbia, at over 500,000 hectares, Wells Gray Provincial Park is filled with mountains, rivers, lakes, volcanic formations, glaciers and forests. In addition, bears, elk, beavers, wolves and eagles are at home here. All outdoor sports (hiking, canoeing, etc.) can be enjoyed here. Water sports can be enjoyed on Clearwater, Azure, Mahood and Murtle lakes, along which most of the park's campsites are located. Among the park's waterfalls, the most famous are Helmcken Falls, which is twice the size of Niagara Falls and easily accessible by road.
