The village of Krasniy Bereg is known for the palace of General Hattowski. Built at the end of the th century, it brings together neo-Gothic elements and those of the French Neo-Renaissance. Decorated with small towers, he's reminiscent of a Bavarian Palace! Inside, there is a beautiful collection of art from the th century, including works by the painters Aivazovsky and Kondratenko. During the Second World War, the palace housed a war Hospital first German, then Soviet, which probably saved the palace of destruction. Everything around a large English park goes down to the Dobasna River. Reconstruction work has been underway in the past few years.Another site that deserves the detour is the Memorial to children dead during the Second World War. Set at the location of a concentration camp, it commemorates the children to whom the Nazis took out of blood to treat injured soldiers. The architecture of the memorial recalls a classroom, with 21 tables and a table on which one reads the last letter sent by a girl imprisoned to her father before committing suicide. Deeply emblematic, the visit of this place arouses very strong emotions.Krasniy Bereg is located 120 km northwest of Gomel, only 3 km from the Minsk-Gomel motorway. Minsk-Gomel trains stop at Krasniy Bereg station. Another option is to take the bus from Gomel.
