The highest peak on the northeast coast of the United States (1,917 m), it is part of the "Presidential" range, a mountain range bearing the names of American presidents. Its ascent is reputed to be very difficult due to bad weather conditions all year round, particularly violent winds. Only experienced walkers should take the risk. The very beautiful panoramas along the way are the reward, more than the summit itself, which is alas colonised by a car park! And yes, the less courageous have the opportunity to reach the summit by road from May to October ... But the rack railway remains the most picturesque way to reach the famous summit.
